Question from Gabriel Blake: When will tryouts be for the 2002 soccer season, and are you looking for any goalkeepers?
A: There are no tryouts. In order for us to give a tryout, the student has to be enrolled at FAU. If so, then our next tryout will be in January 2002 if you are already at FAU. If you will be enrolling for the fall of 2002, then the tryouts will be in the middle of August.
Question from Feleke Kassegn: How satisfied are you by he teams performance? Do you plan to make significant changes to the team or is it good enough? What chances do players who want to try out for next season have against the current ones?
A: As a young team, we have progressed well and have made improvements. We look to make changes if necessary. The chances to make it on the team are as good as one makes them to be. If a player is at the level to be advantageous to the team and he is prepared, then the chances are better.
Question from Alex Smolka: Who are your main rivals in the conference this year, and what are your chances of bringing back a championship trophy?
A: Our main rivals are always UCF, Stetson (conference) and FIU as a non-conference game. The level of play in our conference is very competitive and close. Once we qualify for the play-offs., then any team can win it.
Question from Tom Glucksman: What athletes and performances have stood out for you so far this season? I was impressed with the result against South Florida, were you?
A:Many of our players have done well this season. To mention a few, Pablo Luna, Emiliano Aranes, Jonas Kolstad and Tim Sobczak have been very consistent. I was pleased with the progress we made going into the USF game and with the team's performance.
Question from Mike Lennon: How is the level of this year's team compared to previous years teams? Why don't you play Lynn University anymore? I used to love watching the Lynn-FAU rivalry . Those games were always close, at least in the late 90's.
A: The level is good compared to other years considering that the team is very young. As a Division I school, we always fill up our schedule with Division I teams and can not pass on these teams since it helps out ratings in Division I and conference ratings as well.
Question from Tom Glucksman: I've noticed the team is struggling to score goals this season. Do you plan on making any changes in personnel or strategy to remedy this?
A: We are always looking to make changes for the better of the team. We need to get the attacking players to acquire a killer instinct in front of the goal, since we are creating the chances.
