MIAMI, FL -
,,Clay Fuller's work-hard style of play paid off for the freshman who led Florida Atlantic University with 14 points in a 78-60 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Friday afternoon in the Florida International University Tournament.
The Owls fell to 0-3 on the season and will work to capture the team's first victory 4 pm, Saturday versus tournament host FIU. Milwaukee's record improved to 2-1 on the season with the victory.
Raheim Brown and Robert Williams scored ten each for FAU, which trailed 37-24 at the half. Jeff Cowans and Ernest Crumbley led the Owls defensively with five rebounds each.
Milwaukee, which edged FAU by just three rebounds, forced the Owls into a possession game rather than a running style which FAU hopes to play. The Owls held their turnovers to just 16 while Milwaukee, which was led by Clay Tucker's 26 point and six rebound effort, committed nine.
FAU excelled from the free throw line with a 9-15 (60%) performance.
