MacKenzie Baird joined the sports medicine staff at Florida Atlantic University in June 2019. She is an athletic training fellow for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving team.
Prior to FAU, Baird spent two years working at Southern Illinois University with the men’s and women’s swimming and diving team. She was responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and management of injuries and illnesses. Additionally, she implemented preventative programs for shoulder injuries often found in swimmers.
From 2013 to 2017, Baird worked as an athletic training student at Northern Illinois University specifically with the men’s basketball and tennis programs. While she was a student, she also worked with a high school in Naperville, Illinois and acquired experience as an intern with Athletico Physical Therapy.
Baird graduated from Northern Illinois in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. She obtained a Master of Education in Kinesiology with an emphasis in sport studies from Southern Illinois in May 2019. Baird is a Board Certified and Florida Licensed Athletic Trainer.
