Jonathan Caudle enters his first year as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Florida Atlantic University, joining the Owls’ staff in August 2022. He will be the primary contact for FAU volleyball, women’s basketball, and beach volleyball.
Caudle joins the Owls’ staff after serving as an Athletic Communications Assistant at Middle Tennessee State University. During his time in Murfreesboro, Caudle served as the primary contact for Middle Tennessee soccer and softball. He helped to cover the publicity of Middle Tennessee Soccer great Peyton DePriest, who became the all-time leader in goals scored and points during her five-year career.
Prior to joining the Blue Raiders’ staff, Caudle served as a Sports Information Coordinator at Tennessee Tech University. With the Golden Eagles, he served as the primary contact for Tennessee Tech volleyball, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, and women’s track and field. Caudle helped cover a Golden Eagle women’s basketball team that produced an 11-game winning streak, including an 8-0 start to OVC play, marking the program’s longest winning streak and best start to conference play since the 2000-01 season, and tied SEMO for the longest winning streak in the conference during the 2019-20 season.
Before moving to the Volunteer State, Caudle served as the Sports Information Director at the University of Providence in Great Falls, Montana. With the Argos, Caudle served as the primary media liaison for Argo Athletics and its 20 league-sponsored sports. With the Argos, he covered a pair of NAIA tournament appearances, in addition to seven individual NAIA postseason championship appearances. He facilitated the Frontier Conference cross country and Cascade Collegiate Conference championships, in addition to volunteering with the 2019 NAIA women’s basketball championship.
Prior to joining the Argo Athletics’ staff, Caudle served as a sports information and advanced media assistant with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, an NCAA Division II conference located in Colorado Springs. While at the RMAC, Caudle shared communications responsibilities for the conference's 15 member institutions and 23 league-sponsored sports. With the RMAC, Caudle wrote and disseminated conference press releases, facilitated the conference's player of the week voting, and served as the media relations coordinator during 11 conference championships.
Caudle received his first experience in sports information when he served as an athletics communications intern at his alma mater, Texas Tech University. As a Red Raider, Caudle served as the primary assistant for volleyball, helping to manage game day responsibilities, in addition to assisting with football, women's soccer, and men's and women's basketball.
Prior to his work in athletics communications, Caudle served as a social media intern within the Office of Communications and Marketing at Texas Tech University. In this capacity, Caudle acted as the voice of Texas Tech University, generating daily social content to bolster the brand of Texas Tech University.
A native of Houston, Caudle earned his master’s degree in mass communication with a focus in sports and media in December 2015, just shortly after earning his bachelor’s degree in public relations in August 2014 from Texas Tech University. He is an active member of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
