Carstensen, Onugha Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic women's basketball guard Grace Carstensen and forward Vivian Onugha were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

The honor marks the first career honors for Carstensen and Onugha.

Carstensen, from Hinsdale, Illinois, was one of the American Conference's leading 3-point shooters during her junior season in Paradise. The finance major currently holds an impressive 3.91 GPA.

Carstensen competed in every game and made 20 starts for the Owls. She led the team in 3-point field goal percentage (.416), which ranked second in the American, as well as made 3-point field goals (69) and 3-pointers per game (2.2), both of which ranked fifth in the league. Carstensen scored in double figures, a team second-best 11 times. She tallied a career-best 19 points and tied a career-high two blocks in her Florida Atlantic debut vs. Florida Memorial (Nov. 4). Carstensen also tallied a career-high three steals vs. FGCU (Dec. 12), tied a career-best five made 3-pointers against South Florida (Jan. 24), and collected a career-best four rebounds and scored 14 points at Tulsa (Jan. 27).

Onugha, a native of Lagos, Nigeria, was a prominent presence for the Owls offensively and on the glass during her junior season in Paradise. The health science major holds a 3.53 GPA.

Onugha competed in all 32 games and made 29 starts for the Owls during the 2025-26 season. She led the Owls in points (299), rebounds (195), rebounds per game (6.1), field goal percentage (.516), field goals made (114), free throws made (71), and finished second in points per game (9.3). Onugha posted a team-leading three double-doubles and scored in double figures a team-leading 13 times. She posted a career-best 24 points, shooting 8-of-10 from the field and connecting on a career-best eight free throws vs. Florida Memorial (Nov. 4), while also collecting a career-best 12 rebounds vs. UTSA (Jan. 16). Onugha was named an American Weekly Honorable Mention honoree twice on November 10 and January 19.
