Stefan J. McKinney joined Florida Atlantic University’s staff as an athletic training fellow in June 2021. He was elevated to assistant athletic trainer in December of 2022.
Prior to FAU, McKinney worked as a graduate-assistant athletic trainer at Division II Northwestern Oklahoma State University since August 2019. McKinney worked with the football, women’s basketball, men’s basketball and women’s soccer teams in that role.
As an athletic-training student, McKinney worked with Cabot High School (2019), the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (2019) and the University of Central Arkansas (2017-18).
McKinney graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with an athletic training degree in May 2019. In December 2020, he earned his Master of Education in adult education management and administration from Northwestern Oklahoma State.
Since 2018, McKinney has served as a member of the Arkansas Athletic Trainers’ Association and National Athletic Trainers’ Association. He is also American Red Cross, Administering Emergency Oxygen and CPR/AED certified.
