Owls Name Five Captains Ahead of 2026-27 Season

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving has selected its 2026-27 team captains, Head Coach Lara Preacco announced.
"Our captains here at FAU and swimming and diving really help our team and they help lead our team to be an even better version of themselves. They really help push their teammates to the maximum they can go to," said Preacco.
The Owls have five captains this season, all first timers, with graduate student Amelia Robertson being the longest-tenured Owl. She is joined by senior Nula Gow and junior diver Augusta Ness. On the men's team side, juniors Jayden Repak and Leyton Roe round out the last of the five first-time captains for the 26-27 Owls.
Heading into her fifth season with FAU, Robertson was the 2023 American Conference bronze medalist in 200 back as a freshman. She was Florida Atlantic's first medal winner in the new conference.
Gow had a breakout season in 25-26, becoming the 2026 American Conference silver medalist in 200 breast. With her performance, she became the school record holder in 200 breast after already owning the 200 breast freshman record. Ness is entering her second season with Florida Atlantic after transferring to Boca last fall. In her first season in Paradise, she qualified for the 1-meter "B" Final at the American Conference Championships. She ended her season competing at the 2026 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships.
Entering his second season as an Owl, Roe was a big catalyst to the men's team winning their first conference championship. He became an ASUN gold medalist in 400 free relay while winning two bronze medals in the 200 and 400 medley relays. He currently holds school records in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 medley relay.
Repak is entering his third season on the swim & dive team and has already left a mark on the program's record book, as a member of the school record 200 medley relay team. As a sophomore, he earned a bronze medal as part of the 200-medley relay, while freshman year earning a silver medal in 400 medley relay and bronze in the 200-medley relay.
