Zack McKeown joined the Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball program as a graduate assistant in November 2020. The Brownsburg, Indiana native made his way to Paradise from the Big Ten.
In his two years at FAU, the Owls have achieved back-to-back winning seasons. FAU is coming off the 2021-22 campaign having achieved a 19-15 record and a program’s most 11 Conference USA victories. The Owls are coming off just the program’s fourth ever postseason tournament berth and back-to-back C-USA Second Round Tournament wins.
An Indiana graduate, McKeown served as a Hoosiers men’s basketball student manager for four years. McKeown’s tasks included managing practice flow, breaking down video for opponent scouting reports, assisting coaches and players with day-to-day needs and assisting with player development.
His senior year, he was elevated to head manager, and served as the bridge of communication between the staff and managers and oversaw the other managers as well.
In 2019, McKeown worked as a skill development intern at Coach Joey Burton’s Shot School. He helped train NBA players such as Glenn Robinson III, Trey Lyles, Yogi Ferrell and Jeff Teague.
McKeown earned a bachelor’s degree in sport marketing/management with a minor in business from Indiana in 2020. He is currently pursuing his MBA in sport management here at FAU.
