Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks

At FAU
Charlie Weis returned to the Owls nearly a year after his departure. His return brings a wealth of knowledge to the staff after being a part of three Power Five staffs and working with two NFL teams. He also reunites with head coach Lane Kiffin after working with Kiffin as an offensive analyst at Alabama. In his first year, he tutored a first-year starting quarterback in Chris Robison, who would go on to earn Conference USA Freshman of the Year honors. The Owls would be the league's top team in total offense and rushing offense as well.

2019 saw Weis and Robison improve to even greater heights, with 3,416 passing yards, and 26 touchdown passes to just six interceptions (after a 12:12 ratio his first year). The Owls' offense averages 35.2 points per game, tops in C-USA and 16th in the nation, and ranks 33rd in FBS, averaging 443.0 yards per game. The team has won 10 of its last 11 games, upping the scoring average to 38.5 per, and winning by more than 21 points per game. That includes a 49-6 win in the C-USA Championship, the largest margin of victory in league title game history.

Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons finished third in the NFC South with Weis serving as an offensive analyst.

At FAU
Weis joined the FAU football staff in December of 2016 as a tight end coach but elected to move to the defending NFC Champion and Super Bowl challenger Atlanta Falcons in February.

At Alabama
Weis comes to FAU from the University of Alabama where he served two seasons as the offensive analyst for the Tides’ quarterbacks and running backs. He was a direct report to then-Alabama Offensive Coordinator Lane Kiffin.

In that role, Weis provided in-season details on opponent’s defensive schemes, worked with in-game communications for adjustments, aided in national recruiting efforts for the running backs, aided in offseason fourth quarter program on speed and agility drills and worked directly with Heisman Trophy-winning running back Derrick Henry during the 2015 season. At Alabama, Weis was a part of building a 30-2 record, winning two SEC Championships and one National Championship.

At Kansas
Weis joined the Alabama staff after a three-year stint as the University of Kansas team manager. While at Kansas, Weis assisted the position coaches in practice by administering and directing drills. He ran position meetings for the quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers. He also led opponent breakdown in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

New England Patriots
Weis gained extra experience in 2014 (July-August) as a New England Patriots Volunteer Training Camp Intern. In that role, he worked with the offensive staff and assisted tight end coach Brian Daboll creating highlight and lowlight cutups and coordinating quarterback practice production notes.

At Florida
Prior to KU, Weis served as a University of Florida offensive quality control coach, focusing his efforts with the wide receivers.
