Bio
2021Â (Second Sophomore Season)
- Started 30 of the 40 games he appeared in, 21 behind the plate and nine at DH
- Had five home runs and 22 RBI
- Went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI vs Miami
- Had a pinch-hit grand slam in a road matchup at Charlotte
- In fact, was the team's top pinch-hitter, going 4-for-4 with a walk in his first five plate appearances in that role (and overall batting .571 - four of the team's nine pinch-hits - with eight of the team's 14 PH RBI)
- Another key result off the bench came when the team was down 2-1 in the top of the ninth at UAB, and he hit a pinch-hit triple - the first of his career - to score two for the lead in the eventual win
- Also led the team with a .429 average with runners on and two outs (9-for-21 with 12 RBI), hit .389 with runners in scoring position and two outs (12-for-18), and was .344 for the season against lefthanded pitching
- Began the season on the Buster Posey Award Watch List, given to the nation's top catcher
2020Â (Sophomore)
- Took over the role of starting backstop, with 12 of the team's 16 starts behind the plate
- Led the Owls with 14 RBI and a .548 slugging percentage, while tying for the team lead with three home runs
- Home run total ranked fifth in C-USA; slugging slotted him 12th
- Started off the year with a bang, with a double amongst two hits and a run scored, on Opening Night against Delaware
- Hit his first collegiate home run in a 2-for-4, three-RBI effort versus Binghamton (Feb. 23)
- Posted two doubles in a three-hit showing - with two runs scored and two RBI - as the Owls defeated No. 6 Miami (March 4)
- Had the Owls' only two-home run game, while recording a season-high four RBI, against Northeastern (March 7)
- Finished the year on March 10 against Penn with a full-count, two-out, two-run single
2019Â (Freshman)
- Saw action in 13 games as the team's backup catcher, with six starts
- First start came against Big 10 opponent Illinois, and he threw out the first two runners attempting to steal against him
- All told, he threw out six of 15 potential basestealers, or 40 percent
- Notched his first collegiate basehit and RBI in a win over Quinnipiac
- Added another hit and RBI at Miami
- Picked up his first extra base hit, a double, while scoring a run, at Sam Houston State
High School
- Played at Royal Palm Beach High for coach Thomas Coats
- Three times, was 8A-12Â All-District, and twice (as a junior and senior) was First Team All-County
- Was ranked as the No. 8 catcher in the state by Perfect Game
- Earned Rawlings-Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American honors, and was Second Team All-Region in the state of Florida
