Saw action in 13 games as the team's backup catcher, with six starts
First start came against Big 10 opponent Illinois, and he threw out the first two runners attempting to steal against him
All told, he threw out six of 15 potential basestealers, or 40 percent
Notched his first collegiate basehit and RBI in a win over Quinnipiac
Added another hit and RBI at Miami
Picked up his first extra base hit, a double, while scoring a run, at Sam Houston State
