Wes Sargent joined the FAU staff in the fall of 2014, serving as the team's director of operations in his first season. In the summer of 2015, he assumed the position of volunteer assistant coach, while still overseeing the team's operations.

Along with his coaching and operations duties, Sargent serves as the team's Camp Director for both the youth and high school camps hosted by FAU. Prior to joining the FAU staff, Sargent was a student assistant and director of operations at Florida Gulf Coast from 2012-2014 after playing three seasons for the Eagles.

Sargent's previous coaching experience includes serving as the assistant coach for the Falmouth Commodores in the summer of 2013. There, he coached first base and managed the bullpen and was the liaison between scouts and players. Sargent also spent time as the hitting instructor at The Hitting Academy in Clearwater, Fla. from 2010-2011, organizing and supervising youth games and skill instruction.

Sargent earned his bachelor's degree from FGCU in the spring of 2014.
