Ryan Abel came to Florida Atlantic after graduating in May of 2022 from Stonehill College in Massachusetts, majoring in psychology. While at Stonehill, he spent 2 years as a member of the baseball program and 3 years coaching in the Cape Cod Baseball League.

While a member of the Brewster Whitecaps, he assisted the coaching staff in on and off field operations, advanced scouting reports, pregame player development, and a CCBL championship in 2021.

Abel graduated from Taconic HS in 2017 where he won a D1 Massachusetts State Championship in baseball his senior year before attending Cushing Academy for a post grad year in 2018.
