After two seasons as a special assistant, Hunter Cooley was elevated to pitching coach in June 2025. In his first season in 2026, the Owls' pitching staff led the American Conference with just 43 home runs allowed. Friday starter James Litman earned First Team All-Conference honors and combined with Saturday starter Kide Adetuyi for a 3.86 ERA. The Owls' 1-2 punch also totaled 165 strikeouts in 156 innings.Â
Cooley previously pitched five seasons for the Owls from 2019 to 2023. He totaled 312 innings and a 4.58 career ERA in 70 appearances. He finished his career second all-time in wins with 28. The Vero Beach native completed his graduate degree in criminal justice in the spring of 2023. Â
