Gabby Mayo joined the FAU baseball program in the fall of 2017 as a student manager, and now in her fourth season, is a graduate student that is in charge of the student manager staff, while taking on the role of head video coordinator.
During her tenure, Mayo has been responsible for tracking hard-hit balls and number of quality at-bats, and also assists with pregame batting practice and team defense. She is in charge of recording intrasquad games, editing film for players and coaches. She also sets up and runs Rapsodo for hitters, and records and uploads games and charts to Synergy. She is proficient in Rapsodo, Synergy, Shotcut and other programs.
Additionally, she has worked since December of 2017 with the FAU Owls Baseball Academy, where in addition to all aforementioned responsibilities, she was responsible for food and merchandise ordering and sales, and check-in and check-out of campers.
She was also previously the team manager for the Danbury Grizzlies, of the Housatonic Valley Collegiate League of Connecticut, from February 2012 to August 2016. There she was team statistician, utliziing Gamechanger;Â maintained the team's equipment; was in charge of game day supplies (including lighting, the pre-game umpire meeting, the reporting and updating of scoreboard, and field maintenance); and was also responsible for umpire payments and team finances.
Mayo graduated from FAU with her undergraduate degree in business administration, with a specialization in finance.She was twice a member of the dean's list and was a Presidential Award Scholarship recipient, while also being a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars and being nominated for The Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement.Â
She will soon earn her Master's degree, expected in August of 2022, with an MBA in business administration, and a specialization in sports management. She also currently holds a 4.0 in her master's work.
