CLEVELAND – No. 19 Florida Atlantic men's soccer (2-0-3) remained unbeaten in 2026 after a scoreless draw with Cleveland State (1-2-1) on Saturday night. The Owls have kept a clean sheet in four of five matches so far this season.
The Owls had no shortage of scoring chances, but the woodwork and Vikings' goalkeeper Aleksandar Kolar held them off the board. In the first half, FAU's best chance came from
DJ Koulai, who redirected a cross from
David Jesus past Kolar but off the left post. The Owls outshot the Vikings 9-3 in the opening 45 minutes.
They fired four more attempts at the CSU goal in the second half, but Kolar continued to deny the 19th-ranked Owls. With just under three minutes left, Koulai and
Xavi Csato were stoned by Kolar in spectacular fashion on back-to-back shots. The Owls outshot the Vikings 13-5 overall with a 7-3 edge in attempts on goal.
At the other end,
Alfred Mikkelsen finished with three saves to record his 10th career clean sheet. Mikkelsen is tied for third in program history in that category.
The Owls now return home to begin American Conference play against No. 25 Charlotte next Friday, Sept. 11. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
