BOCA RATON, Fla. – No. 15 Florida Atlantic beach volleyball's
Klaire VanDeusen and
Olivia Strandberg were named to the Conference USA Beach Volleyball All-Academic Team, announced by the league office on Friday.
VanDeusen boasts a team-leading 17-10 record this season, including a season-best 11-8 record on court three, playing all her matches with
Mia Scanlon. The duo has earned CUSA Pair of the Week honors twice this season, on March 10 and April 14. She has earned ranked wins against No. 1 UCLA, No. 15 Stetson, and twice against No. 17 North Florida. VanDeusen was also recognized with the CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal and was named to the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll this season. She holds a 4.0 GPA and is working toward her master's degree in social work.
Strandberg is tied for a team third-best 15-12 record, including a season-best 11-9 record on court two, playing alongside teammate
Ava Koehl. The pair earned CUSA Pair of the Week honors on March 17 and has earned ranked victories against No. 6 TCU, No. 7 Florida State, and No. 16 & No. 17 North Florida. The junior was recognized with the CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal and was named to the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll this season. Strandberg boasts a 3.9 GPA and is majoring in computer science.
