VanDeusen and Scanlon Secure Second CUSA Pair of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – No. 15 Florida Atlantic beach volleyball's pair of Klaire VanDeusen and Mia Scanlon were named the Conference USA Pair of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
The honor marks the third for the Sandy Owls this season, and the second career weekly honor for VanDeusen and Scanlon.
The duo had a phenomenal weekend, finishing unbeaten during the Owls' Capri Classic with four straight-set sweeps, including three dual-clinching wins, over No. 17 North Florida, Jacksonville, SFA, and RV FGCU. On Friday, they opened the weekend with a 21-19, 21-16 win over No. 17 North Florida's 3s pair. The pair then closed out the first day with a dual-clinching sweep over Jacksonville, 21-16, 21-15.
VanDeusen and Scanlon kicked off day two with another dominant straight-set dual-clinching sweep at the 3s over SFA, 21-11, 21-12, before closing out the weekend with their third dual-clinching win of the weekend on court three against FGCU, 21-18, 21-14.

The Sandy Owls head to Seattle, Washington, this weekend to close out the regular season at the Alki Beach Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 17-18, taking on Oregon, Portland, No. 19 Boise State, and host Washington.
