BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic graduate senior
Ian Collier has been named the American Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. He is the first Owl to win the award this season.
Collier played a vital role in the Owls' winning two of three games against Memphis over the weekend. He finished the series 7-for-13 (.538) with three home runs and six RBI. In Friday's 17-4 run-rule victory, the Plano, Texas native doubled, singled, and scored three runs. After another multi-hit game on Saturday, he homered twice and drove in three runs in Sunday's finale.
Collier enters Tuesday's midweek matchup against FGCU with five consecutive multi-hit games. He leads the Owls with seven home runs and is second on the team with 20 RBI.
