BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women's tennis team faced a 4-3 decision for the fifth time in 2026, falling to No. 27 Yale by a 4-3 score in a match that took nearly 3:30 minutes of work on Monday afternoon.

The Owls fall to 4-7 on the year while Yale moves to 10-2 with the win.

THE BEGINNNING
The Owls, who played at home for the first time in 16 days, showed no sign of cobwebs by picking up the doubles point with a 6-3 win by the freshman duo of Malika Amirgaliyeva / Alexia Patru on court #2. Shortly thereafter Malwina Rowinska / Maya Shanok captured court #3 at 6-2. The No. 56 doubles team of Panna Bartha / Katrin Pavkova were tied with Yale's No. 28 doubles team at 4-4 when the point was clinched and the court #1 match was abandoned.

THE MIDDLE
The Bulldogs evened the match with a court #6 win. A 6-4, 6-3 victory by Bartha on the Owls' top court put FAU back in front at 2-1, but the lead would be short lived with Yale tying at 2-2 via a court #4 win.

THE FINALE
An FAU win by Pavkova on court #4 and a loss on court #3 evened the match once more setting up do-or-die on court #2. FAU's Rowinska dropped the first set 6-4 then pushed the second set to tiebreaker and captured the breaker 7-5. The junior from Warszawa, Poland built a 3-0 lead in the third before Yale marched back to take the third set at 6-4 and the match at 4-3.
