BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic softball is once again represented on the American Conference Honorable Mention list, with redshirt junior outfielder
Kylie Hammonds and graduate pitcher
Ainsley Lambert receiving the weekly honors.
This marks the first honor for both players in 2026. It is Hammonds' second of her collegiate career and Lambert's fourth. The duo led the Owls to a 3-1 record over the week, including a series win over Charlotte to open American Conference play.
Hammonds was a force for the Owls on offense and defense. Offensively, she reached base 13 times in 17 plate appearances, totaling seven hits with eight runs, three home runs, four RBI, five walks, and a hit-by-pitch with a slugging percentage of 1.545 and 2-for-2 on stolen bases.
She homered three times in two days, including a leadoff home run to begin conference play and one later in the evening for her first multi-homer game. Hammonds is currently tied for the conference lead in home runs (seven) and leads in runs (29). Defensively, she recorded 10 putouts from the centerfield spot and robbed multiple hits, including a home run.
Lambert played a super relief role for the Owls, appearing in three of four games, all wins. In 7.2 total innings, she faced 27 batters and allowed no runs and just three hits while striking out six.
On Sunday, she picked up a save to take the American Conference lead with four this season. She remains the only eligible pitcher in the conference that is allowing a batting average lower than .200, currently at .170.
