Josiah Parker was named the American Conference Freshman of the Week for the league-leading sixth time this season, announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Parker tallies his sixth Freshman of the Week award for the season, his second straight, and third in the month of February. He now has double the amount of the weekly accolade than the next closest freshman.
The Ohio native led the Owls with 34 points and 22 rebounds this week on the two-game road trip in the Lone Star State. Against UTSA, he registered his fourth straight double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. His performance in San Antonio marked his sixth career double-double, leading both Florida Atlantic as well as all freshmen in the American. On Sunday against North Texas, Parker recorded 18 points and was just shy of another double-double with nine boards. He is currently on a team-best eight-game streak of scoring in double figures.
Across seven games during the month of February, Parker is averaging 16.5 points per game to go with 9.8 rebounds per game while also making the first three starts of his collegiate career.
