BOCA RATON, Fla. – For his final collegiate season, Florida Atlantic football's fifth-year LB Joseph Sipp Jr. is back where he belongs in the Sunshine State.
The Tampa native is a product of Hillsborough High School, much like Owl alum and NFL Pro Bowl LB Azeez Al-Shaair who has become a mentor to Sipp Jr. He is also the product of his father, a track coach, who helped him become the best version of himself.
After spending time at Bowling Green and Kansas, Sipp Jr. has made Florida Atlantic his home. He leads the Owls through five games with 33 tackles and has logged a team-best two sacks. The defensive unit has played an integral role in the current four-game winning streak, allowing 17 or less points in three consecutive games for the first time since 2020.
Sipp Jr. sat down with Frank Forte to discuss his upbringing and football journey on "Football in Paradise."
"Football In Paradise" is included in "Inside the Owls' Burrow" the team's weekly show airing each Thursday throughout the season on the Spot. The Spot, South Florida 39 (WSFL-TV), will air the show weekly on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. ET in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale DMA with replays running to be determined. The Spot, South Florida 9 (WHDT-TV), will air the show on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET in the West Palm Beach-Fort Pierce DMA with replays to be determined.
