BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic's Joan Joyce Field at FAU Softball Stadium was recognized as the 'Field of the Year' by the Sports Field Management Association.
The prestigious award is presented annually to the softball field, rewarding the University that most excelled this year in providing quality, safe playing surfaces. Joan Joyce Field receives the honor for the first time since 2013, thanks in large part to Max Wadsworth's work.
Fans will be able to see the award-winning field at FAU Softball Stadium during the 2026 season, beginning with the Paradise Classic on Thursday, Feb. 5.
QUOTABLE
Head Coach Jordan Clark
"What a huge honor to receive this award. We are so proud of the work Max Wadsworth has done with our field. The amount of time and attention to detail is truly one of a kind. Without him this award wouldn't have been possible. This past season was the best the dirt has played in my time at FAU. It truly is a home field advantage when you have great people working behind the scenes. This award proves when you invest into making things great big things can happen."
