CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Florida Atlantic football completed the second and final day of the 2025 American Conference Kickoff on Friday at the Charlotte Convention Center, joining American Commissioner Tim Pernetti and the other 13 schools in the conference to preview the upcoming season.
First-year Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley, redshirt junior quarterback Caden Veltkamp, and redshirt senior defensive tackle Bryce Langston arrived in Charlotte on Thursday, participating in fan events as well as photo and video shoots.
On Friday morning, the trio participated in a series of interviews that aired live on ESPN+, including a press conference from Coach Kittley.
Entering their 25th season, and their third as a member of the American, the Owls will take the field next week for the beginning of fall camp. The 2025 campaign officially begins on Saturday, Aug. 30 on the road against Maryland.
QUOTABLE Hagerty Family Head Coach Zach Kittley on how he is bringing the team together
"Number one is be a family, number two is have fun. If you have genuine love for each other and you have fun while you're up in that building, I tell my players that your best part of your day should be when you're walking into our building. That's my goal as a head football coach. It's just the environment that we have, the people that are in that building. You recruit the character too, you don't just recruit the football player on the field."
