BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – Florida Atlantic baseball prevailed 4-3 over UAB in the regular season finale on Saturday in Alabama. The Owls enter the postseason at 36-19 overall and 15-12 in the American Athletic Conference. They will be the fourth seed in the AAC Tournament beginning Tuesday, May 20, in Clearwater, Fla.

THE BEGINNING
The Owls scored first for the first time in the series when
Brando Leroux lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to bring in
John Martinez in the fourth inning. UAB responded with two runs in the ensuing half inning and another run in the fifth to lead 3-1. Â Â

THE TURNING POINT
The FAU bats rallied in the seventh.
Ayden Garcia drew a one-out walk, and
Dylan LaPointe singled for his third hit of the day. That set the table for a two-out, three-run blast off the bat of
Marshall Lipsey. Lipsey's 12th home run of the season, a towering shot that narrowly stayed inside the right field foul pole, gave the Owls a 4-3 lead.Â

MJ Bollinger handled the eighth inning with just nine pitches and worked around a leadoff infield single in the ninth to secure his 11th save of the season. Â

- LaPointe finished 3-for-4 with all three hits coming as singles.
- Lipsey finished the regular season with 43 RBI.
- Ayden Garcia reached base three times with a walk and two hit-by-pitches.

- James Litman made the start and allowed two runs on five hits in four innings.
- Carter Holjes was credited with the win. The graduate senior allowed one run on three hits in two innings.
- Steven Andrews bridged the gap to Bollinger with a clean seventh inning.
- Bollinger recorded his fifth six-out save of the season.
