BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 27 Florida Atlantic women's tennis team, the only undefeated team among NCAA Division I schools, will carry a 14-0 record into this weekend's match against in-state foe FIU. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 12 and will be played at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center. Prior to the match, FAU will celebrate two seniors Millie-Mae Matthews and Lexi Silna, who have played their entire collegiate careers in Paradise.
This will be the 27th meeting between the two teams. The Panthers captured last season's match by a 4-1 score.
The Owls are returning home for the first time since late March and are coming off a three-match road trip where they picked up victories at Memphis, Tulane and a neutral site match versus Tulsa.
Silna remains perfect with an overall singles record of 11-0, including a 10-0 dual match record. Sophomore Malwina Rowinska is on a six-match winning streak in singles heading into Saturday's match. The No. 87 ranked duo of Rowinska and freshman Lara Smejkal hold a record of 13-3 overall and 12-1 in dual matches.
All matches are free and open to the public. Saturday's match is part of the Owls' Hometown Teams' Weekend. For more information click HERE.
