ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball (7-1) went on the road for the first time on Tuesday night and came away with a 4-3 win over UCF (6-2).
The Owls opened the scoring in the third inning and doubled the lead on a
Jake Millan solo home run in the fourth. UCF responded with three in the bottom of the fourth to take its first lead.
The Owls rallied with two outs in the sixth.
Carter Brady and
Brando Leroux drew walks, and
Kyle Boylston lined an opposite-field single to right field to tie the game.
Jake Duer then beat out an infield single to bring in the go-ahead run.
UCF had four chances with runners in scoring positions in the last four innings. Each time, the FAU pitching staff shut it down. The Knights had two on with no outs in the eighth before
MJ Bollinger came on and recorded two strikeouts and a flyout.
In the ninth, UCF put the leadoff man on and advanced him all the way to third. Bollinger dug in again and induced three groundouts to lock down the victory.

- Duer doubled and singled to run his NCAA-leading hit total to 19
- Zach Kilby started and cruised through the first three innings before running into trouble in the fourth
- Max Martzolf was first out of the bullpen and was credited with his third win of the season after 1.1 scoreless
- Kide Adetuyi and Braden Ostrander combined to cover the seventh and eighth innings
- Bollinger earned his second save of the season
The Owls return home to host Fordham for a three-game series beginning Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
