Florida Atlantic Hosts South Florida Saturday

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic Owls return to action on Saturday, Feb. 15, hosting in-state AAC rival South Florida for the Owls Black History Month game. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.

FLORIDA ATLANTIC: AT A GLANCE

- South Florida enters Saturday's matchup at 17-8 overall and 10-2 in league play, riding a six-game winning streak.
- As a team, the Bulls lead the AAC in assist/turnover ratio (1.0), assists per game (14.8), and fewest turnovers per game (14.7), in addition to ranking second in scoring defense (60.4), 3-point percentage (.347), and turnover margin (1.96), third in winning percentage (.680), fourth in field goal percentage (.419), scoring margin (5.3), and steals per game (8.5), and fifth in rebounding margin (2.2).
- The Bulls are led offensively by Sammie Puisis and Vittoria Blasigh. Puisis ranks fifth in the AAC in points and sixth for points per game, averaging 14.6 points per contest this season. Blasigh rounds out the Bulls' double figure scorers, tallying 10.2 points per game.
- South Florida's assists leader is Mama Dembele, who leads the AAC in assists with 136 and assists per game, averaging 5.4 per contest.
- Defensively, the Bulls are led on the glass by Carla Brito, who ranks fifth in the AAC in rebounds per game, averaging 7.7 boards per contest. L'or Mputu ranks second on the team in rebounding and sixth in the AAC, collecting 7.3 rebounds per game. Mputu leads South Florida in blocked shots, ranking seventh in the AAC with 27 blocks, and averaging 1.08 blocks per game, ranking 10th in the league.
SERIES HISTORY
- South Florida holds the all-time series lead between the Owls and the Bulls, 11-8, however, the Owls hold the advantage in Boca Raton, leading the Bulls 6-1 in Paradise. South Florida won the last meeting between the two teams earlier this season, taking an 85-59 battle on Jan. 18 in Tampa.
LAST TIME OUT: AT MEMPHIS
- The Florida Atlantic Owls dropped a 73-60 battle last Saturday in Memphis.
- For the sixth time this season, Moore led the way overall with a team-high 15 points
- Moore and Maria Myklebust tied with a team-leading eight boards each
- Stefanie Ingram and Moore each dished out four assists on the evening
- The Owls outscored the Tigers 15-13 in the third
- Florida Atlantic also held an advantage inside, outscoring Memphis 34-18 in the paint.

- Following Saturday's contest, the Owls will head back on the road for a two-game road stretch at Rice on Tuesday, Feb. 18 and Charlotte on Saturday, Feb. 22.
