BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley has completed his on-field coaching staff with the additions of Brandon Lacy as defensive line coach and Antonio Fenelus as cornerbacks coach.
"I am thrilled to welcome Antonio and Brandon to the FAU family," said Kittley. "Antonio was born and raised in Boca Raton and brings an impressive coaching resume back to his hometown Owls, while Brandon also possesses a strong track record of developing talent for the next level. I'm fired up to get started with them and the rest of our talented staff."
Lacy brings 22 years of coaching experience, working primarily with defensive linemen with a knack for disrupting opposing quarterbacks. Lacy has made coaching stops at Appalachian State, Southeastern Louisiana, Richmond, Southern Mississippi, and Western Michigan. He has mentored five NFL Draft picks and had 10 players sign NFL or CFL contracts. His resume also includes coaching 10 different defensive linemen to All-America honors, 34 to all-conference accolades, three conference Defensive Players of the Year, and two Buck Buchanan Award finalists. Lacy played defensive end at Kansas and was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection.
Fenelus, born and raised in Boca Raton, will return home to continue his career as a cornerbacks coach after playing collegiately at Wisconsin, where he was a two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection (2020, 2011) as a defensive back. He played professionally in the UFL, the CFL, and the Arena League, winning the ArenaBowl XXVII title with the Arizona Rattlers, before entering the collegiate coaching ranks with stops at Wisconsin, East Central University, LSU, Illinois, and Virginia.
The Owls begin their spring practice schedule on March 11.
