Owls Travel to Coral Gables to Challenge Miami

Boca Raton, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women's basketball team continues its road stretch on Thursday, Nov. 13, as the Owls head to Coral Gables for a battle with ACC foe Miami. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Watsco Center on ACCNX.

A LOOK AT THE OWLS

The Florida Atlantic Owls enter Thursday's midweek matchup 2-0 after earning a pair of season-opening wins over Florida Memorial, 89-46, and Kennesaw State, 69-68.
The Owls are led offensively by Vivian Onugha, Grace Carstensen, Destyne Jackson, and Michiyah Simmons. Onugha leads the Owls, averaging 15.0 points per game. Carstensen ranks second on the team, recording 14.5 points per game, while Jackson and Simmons tie for third, tallying 10.5 points apiece through two games.
Simmons and Ineivi Plata are tied for a team-leading 3.5 assists per game.
On the glass, the Owls are led by Haley Walker, collecting 8.0 rebounds per contest, and Onugha, who ranks second on the team with 7.5 boards per game so far this season.

SCOUTING MIAMI

Miami enters Wednesday's contest at 2-0 after opening the season with wins over Hofstra, 83-48, and Bethune-Cookman, 74-41.
The Canes are led offensively by Ra Shaya Kyle and Ahnay Adams. Kyle boasts a team-leading 16 points per game, while Adams is also averaging double-figures with 11 points per game.
Kyle also paces the team in the glass, collecting a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game. Jessica Peterson and Candace Kpetikou rank second on the team, collecting 6.5 rebounds per game, each.
Gal Raviv is the Canes' assists leader, dishing out a team-high 5.5 assists per game this season.
Kyle, Peterson, and Natalie Wetzel are tied for the team lead in blocks, recording two blocks apiece.

SERIES HISTORY

Wednesday's meeting marks the 21^st all-time meeting between Florida Atlantic and Miami. The Owls will look for their first win over the Canes. Miami has won 16 contests in Coral Gables, including a 75-42 win in the last meeting between the two programs on Nov. 16, 2022.

LAST TIME OUT: AT KENNESAW STATE

The Owls extended their season-opening winning streak to 2-0 with a 69-68 road win at Kennesaw State on Saturday.
Four Florida Atlantic players finished in double figures. Jackson with 13, Simmons with 12, Jess Moors with 11, and Carstensen with 10.
Vivian Onugha led the team in rebounds on the night with four.
Simmons had a team-leading five assists.
The Owls were 50 percent from both field goal and 3-point range on the night, matching up well to Kennesaw State's 48.1 field goal percentage and 16.7 three-point percentage.
