Kierstin Bevelle tied things back up at 11-11 after back-to-back kills of her own. UAB retook the advantage 12-11, but a kill from
Libby Ashline and a pair of kills from
Olivia Hart highlighted a 4-0 Owl run that put FAU in front by three at the media break, 15-12. The Owls maintained the momentum out of the break, outscoring the Blazers 3-1, capped off by an ace from Ashline, to extend the lead to five, 18-13, and force the Blazers' first timeout of the set. UAB battled back, going on a 5-1 run to cut the Owls' lead to just one at 19-18, however, FAU clutched up, producing a 6-1 set-ending run to capture the opening 1-0 lead, 25-19.
Set two was a back-and-forth battle through a close 11-10 UAB advantage, however,
Anna Hartman's sixth kill of the day sparked a 5-0 run, giving the Owls a 15-11 lead at the second set media break. The Owls extended their lead to eight, leading 21-13, before UAB went on a 4-1 run to cut the lead to five, 22-17. Like the opening set, the Owls started off strong, opening the third on a 5-1 run to spark an early Blazer timeout. UAB just couldn't find an answer for FAU's offensive attack as the Owls produced a 12-8 run to extend their lead to eight, 17-9, as the Blazers called their second and final timeout of the third. The Blazers tried to rally, cutting the FAU lead to five at 21-16, but Bevelle's 17
