Owls Host UAB as Final Stretch Run Begins

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's soccer (9-3, 4-1) hosts UAB (4-7-1, 1-4) on Friday night at 7 p.m. in a pivotal, late-season American Conference matchup. With three games to go in the regular season, the Owls are a point behind Charlotte for the top spot in the conference standings.

ABOUT THE OWLS

The Owls are back home, where they are 7-0 and outscoring their opponents 16-1.
If the Owls win Friday and then next Wednesday against USF, they will secure a first-round bye in the American Conference Tournament.
The Owls are 9-0 this season when they score the first goal.
Mamadou Diarra and Aboubacar Traore have combined for 21 goals and 28 assists (70 points) in 28 matches dating bac to the start of the 2024 season.

ABOUT THE BLAZERS

UAB shocked No. 17 North Carolina in Chapel Hill in their last match.
After falling behind 1-0, the Blazers tied the game near the end of the first half and then grabbed the go-ahead goal 10 minutes into the second half to steal a 2-1 road victory.
Sophomore forward Patrik Fagan scored both goals.
UAB earned its lone conference win over Missouri State on September 27.

SERIES HISTORY

The all-time series is tied 7-7. FAU won five straight before UAB won last season's matchup in Birmingham.

The Owls face their final road test of the season when they travel to USF on Wednesday, October 29.
