Senior Lexi Silna Named AAC Player of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic senior Lexi Silna has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the AAC on Tuesday.
Silna is the first female to earn the honor in 2025. She has jumped to a 3-0 singles record with wins over players from the Big 12 (Houston), the AAC [No. 23 Miami], and most recently, her Big 10 foe in Minnesota. Silna's singles play has been tone-setting, especially in the Owls' 4-1 win over Miami. She also remains unblemished in doubles play with a 5-0 record teaming with sophomore Panna Bartha.
Coincidently, doubles partner Bartha is the only other Owl to earn the AAC Player of the Week honor, doing so the week of February 13, 2024. Historically, Silna is the sixth Owl to earn Player of the Week honors, now a combined nine times.
The Owls are 2-0 in dual match play and will next travel to Fort Myers, Fla., where they will face host Florida Gulf Coast University at 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31.
