BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic Owls return to the road this week, heading to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, Jan. 15, against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET inside the Donald W. Reynolds Center and on ESPN+.
- The Florida Atlantic Owls head into Wednesday's midweek matchup at 9-8 overall and 1-3 in AAC play and are looking to snap a two-game skid.
- As a team, the Owls lead the AAC in fouls per game (13.4) and rebounds per game (42.4), in addition to ranking second in defensive rebounds per game (28.3), third in field goal percentage defense (.384) and offensive rebounds per game (14.1), and fourth in scoring defense (63.3).
- Florida Atlantic is paced offensively by Mya Perry. Perry ranks fifth in the AAC in points with 265 this season and ranks sixth in the league in points per game, averaging 15.6 points per game.
- The Owls' assists leader is Stefanie Ingram, who ranks second in the AAC in assists with 84 and third in assists per game, averaging 4.9 assists per contest.
- Ta'Ziah Jenks leads the Owls on the boards, averaging 6.4 rebounds per game. Jenks also leads the team is the Owls' blocks leader, tallying 0.8 blocks per contest this season.
- Tulsa enters Wednesday's game at 8-9 overall and 2-3 in AAC play. The Golden Hurricane split their last two contests, earning a 76-70 win over Charlotte but falling 73-71 on the road at Temple.
- As a team, the Golden Hurricane rank second in the AAC in 3-point attempts per game (26.3) and 3-pointers per game (7.9), third in assists per game (15.1), steals per game (9.9), turnover margin (1.65), and turnovers forced per game (19.1), fourth in assist/turnover ratio (0.86), and fifth in defensive rebounds per game (26.8) and scoring offense (69.5).
- The Golden Hurricane's offense is led by Delanie Crawford, who ranks second in the AAC in points and points per game, averaging 18.3 points per contest. Crawford also leads Tulsa in rebounding, averaging 5.6 rebounds per game, and steals, collecting 1.6 steals per contest.
- Kristol Ayson is the Golden Hurricane's assists leader, dishing out 2.5 assists per game.
- Hadley Periman leads Tulsa in blocks on the season, recording 1.6 blocks per contest this season.
- Tulsa holds a slight 2-1 all-time series lead, however, the Owls hold a 1-0 lead in Tulsa. The Florida Atlantic Owls won the first-ever matchup between the two teams on Feb. 8, 2014, taking a 91-86 victory in Tulsa. In their last meeting, the Golden Hurricane won 81-72 on Jan. 13, 2024, in Boca Raton.
- The Owls fell in a 73-61 battle against the UAB Blazers.
- Stefanie Ingram led the way for the Owls with a career-high 16 points, shooting 58 percent (7-of-12) from the field and 100 percent (1-of-1) from 3-point range, while also adding six boards and dishing out a team-high four assists.
- Mya Perry also registered double-figures in the contest, recording 14 points, six boards, and an assist.
- Lovisa Asbrink Hose led the team on the glass, pulling down a team-high nine boards, alongside seven points, a block, and a steal.
- The Owls had a strong start to the second half, outscoring the Blazers 21-18 in the third quarter.
- Following Wednesday's contest, the Owls will fly back to Florida for a Sunshine State road matchup against the South Florida Bulls on Saturday, Jan. 18. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET at the Yuengling Center and on ESPN+.
