BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's tennis made three trips down south this weekend, participating in the FIU Invite featuring the Owls, DePaul, host FIU, and Missouri.

The weekend was an opportunity for the Owls to play as individuals one last time before moving into the dual match season this Thursday, Jan. 16, when they play host to Miami at 11 a.m.

The Owls captured two-of-three doubles matches on Friday to get 2025 started and then captured two-of-six singles matches played.

They ran the doubles table on Saturday and cheered as newcomer Lara Smejkal defeated Missouri's Zoe Lazar (MIZZU), 6-0, 7-5.

On Sunday, FAU captured two of the three double courts and was perfect in singles play in all matches completed.
