Owls set for Red Raider Classic

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic volleyball hits the road for the first time this season this weekend as the Owls head to Lubbock, Texas to compete in the Red Raider Classic.
The Owls will kick off the weekend against Green Bay on Friday at 11:30 a.m. ET, before wrapping up their first day of competition against host Texas Tech at 7 p.m. ET. Florida Atlantic will wrap up the weekend on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET against Northern Arizona.

SCOUTING FLORIDA ATLANTIC
- Florida Atlantic finished its season-opening four-game homestand 3-1 with three sweeps over Seton Hall, Ball State, and FIU.
- Valeria Rosado was named AAC Weekly Honorable Mention after a standout performance during the Florida Atlantic Invitational. Rosado notched her first pair of double-doubles of the season, posting a team-leading 40 kills, averaging 3.64 per set, in addition to recording a team second-best 29 digs, tallying 2.64 per set, to go along with five blocks and three service aces.
- Victoria Hensley reached a huge career milestone on Tuesday, surpassing 2,000 career assists in the Owls' 3-0 sweep over FIU.
- The Owls' offense is led by Valeria Rosado and Katelynn Robine, who have tallied 3.86 and 3.43 kills per set, respectively.
- Victoria Hensley powers the Florida Atlantic offense, dishing out 10.14 assists per set this season. Hensley also just recently surpassed 2,000 career assists during the Owls' straight-set sweep over FIU.
- The Owls' libero Isabelle Northam anchors the back row, tallying 3.86 digs per set through the first four matches.
- Madison Dyer, Natalie Depaula, and Maggie Allred lead the Owls at the net, registering 1.43, 1.14, and 1.0 blocks per set this season, respectively.
SCOUTING GREEN BAY
- Green Bay is 0-3 to start the season after dropping a five-set battle against Utah State and a pair of straight-set matches against Utah and UTEP at the Utah Classic.
- Cora Behnke and Katie Schulz lead the Phoenix offense, averaging 2.36 and 2.18 kills per set, respectively.
- Calli Gentry is Green Bay's assists leader, dishing out 7.55 assists per set through three matches.
- Abby Gardner leads the Phoenix in digs, averaging 2.45 digs per set, while Gentry ranks second on the team with 2.18 digs per set.
- Ellie Kurpeikis paces Green Bay at the net, tallying five blocks, while Emma Best and Diane Pichelman rank second on the team with three blocks apiece this season.
SCOUTING TEXAS TECH
- Texas Tech enters this weekend's Red Raider Classic at 2-1 overall. The Red Raiders opened the season at the Boston College Invitational, earning sweeps over Eastern Kentucky and Iona, but falling in straight sets to host Boston College.
- Mia Wesley and Emily Merrick led the Red Raider's offense, recording 4.13 and 2.0 kills per set, respectively, through the first three matches.
- Hanna Borer is Texas Tech's assists leader, dishing out 8.75 assists per set.
- The Red Raiders' back row is anchored by Maddie Correa and Abby Dickinson, who have tallied 4.11 and 3.89 digs per set, respectively, so far this season.
- At the net, Texas Tech's defensive presence is led by Aliyah McDonald and Merrick, who have registered 2.63 and 1.33 blocks per set, respectively.
SCOUTING NORTHERN ARIZONA
- Northern Arizona enters the Red Raider Classic at 2-1 overall with a four-set win over Southern Utah and a sweep over Gonzaga but fell in straight sets against UC San Diego.
- The Lumberjacks are led offensively by Taylor Jacobsen and Hanah Stoddard, who are averaging 4.3 and 3.0 kills per set, respectively.
- Northern Arizona runs a two-setter offense with Karya Suvarioglu and Keira Hall powering the Lumberjacks' attack, dishing out 5.5 and 5.4 assists per set, respectively.
- Defensively Northern Arizona is led by Millie O'Ketter, averaging 4.8 digs per set, while Jacobsen ranks second on the team in digs, collecting 2.9 per set.
- At the net, the Lumberjacks are led by Avery Gottschalk and Savannah Bloom, tallying 1.6 and 0.9 blocks per set, respectively.
UP NEXT
- Following this weekend, the Owls will remain on the road as they return to the Sunshine State to compete in the Florida State Classic on Sept. 13 & 14 in Tallahassee.
