BATON ROUGE, La. – Florida Atlantic graduate senior
Max Sturdza has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional taking place May 13-15. Sturdza will become the second FAU men's golfer to compete in NCAA postseason play, joining Kelly McHugh who also appeared as an individual in 2009.
Â
The regional will consist of three days and 54 holes of stroke play at the University Club Golf Course, home of LSU's men's and women's golf teams. The field will consist of 14 teams and five individuals. The top five teams and the low individual not on one of those teams will advance to the NCAA National Championship May 24-29 at Omni Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
Â
Earlier on Wednesday, Sturdza was named to the AAC All-Conference team making it four consecutive years of all-conference honors for the Geneva, Switzerland native. Sturdza put together a historic 2023-24 campaign highlighted by his first individual victory at the Southern Invitational where his final round 63 set a new 18-hole program record. The Swiss native also set four single season records (scoring average, par or better rounds, birdies, and eagles).
