LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's golf is at the top of the leaderboard after two rounds at the Southern Invitational in nearby Lake Worth, Fla.
Max Sturdza (-8) holds a two-shot advantage in the individual competition. All four of the Owls' counting scores are inside the Top 7 in the 48-player field.

- Sturdza opened with a 64 (-7) in the first round. He circled five birdies and added an eagle at the par-five eighth hole.
- The 64 tied the lowest 18-hole score in program history – the last player to do it was Nicolai Syversten on February 3, 2003 (posted on a par 72 course). Â
- Sturdza signed for 70 in the afternoon to add his name to another record – 134 is tied for the lowest 36-hole total in program history.
- Juan Delgado (T3, -4), Jake Hibbert (T7, -1), and Jack Wehle (T7, -1) are all in contention heading into Tuesday.
- The Owls' 36-hole team total of 554 (-14) is the second lowest in program history. They lead the team competition by six shots over St. John's. The Owls and the Red Storm were the only two teams in the field under-par on Monday.
- NaShawn Tyson, competing as an individual, is also in the mix at -3 after rounds of 70 and 69.

The final round will get underway at 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday. The Owls will be paired with St. John's and Binghamton.
