FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 12-seeded Florida Atlantic Owls (11-18, 6-12 AAC) are set to open play in their first American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship this weekend as they face off against the No. 13-seeded Wichita State Shockers (9-21, 5-13 AAC) in their first-round matchup on Saturday, March 9 at 5 p.m. ET inside Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
- Florida Atlantic enters postseason play at 11-18 and 6-12 in American Athletic Conference play. The Owls won 6 of their last 11 contests heading into postseason play.
- As a team, the Owls rank in the top half of the league in a few different categories, ranking second in fouls per game (14.9), third in 3-point percentage (.334), fourth in bench points per game (21.7) and 3-pointers per game (6.7), fifth in 3-point attempts per game (20.0), and sixth in field goal percentage (.401).

- The Owls closed out the regular season on Wednesday, falling in a 74-53 battle against the Temple Owls.
- Aniya Hubbard and Alexa Zaph led the Owls in the contest, scoring 12 and 10 points, respectively.
- Janeta Rozentale secured her 800th career rebound against Temple.
- Dyllan Hanna led the Owls on the boards, collecting a team-high eight rebounds.
- Jada Moore dished out a team-leading four assists, while Hubbard posted a team-high two steals in the contest.
- Florida Atlantic outshot Temple 50 percent to 42.1 percent from beyond the arc and also held a 13-6 advantage in second-chance points.
- Wichita State enters the AAC tournament at 9-21 overall and 5-13 in AAC play. The Shockers closed the regular season with a 68-65 road win over UAB.
- As a team, the Shockers rank second in the AAC in 3-point percentage defense (.286) and fifth in free throw attempts per game (19.1).
- The Shockers offense is led by Daniela Abies, Salese Blow, and Tre'Zure Jobe, who are averaging 12.9, 12.1, and 10.1 points per game, respectively.

Saturday will mark the first postseason meeting between the Owls and the Shockers.
