BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's basketball (10-17, 5-11 AAC) closes out its 2023-24 regular season slate on Wednesday, March 6 as the Owls head to Philadelphia to take on the AAC-leading Temple Owls (18-11, 12-5). Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. inside the Liacouras Center.
- The Owls enter their regular season finale riding a two-game winning streak and at 11-17 overall and 6-11 in American Athletic Conference play.
- As a team, the Owls rank in the top half of the league in a few different categories, ranking second in fouls per game (15.0), third in 3-point percentage (.330), fourth in bench points per game (21.6) and 3-pointers per game (6.7), fifth in 3-point attempts per game (20.2), and seventh in field goal percentage (.401).
- Offensively, the Owls are led by Aniya Hubbard, Mya Perry, and Jada Moore, who are averaging 18.2, 11.6, and 10.6 points per game, respectively.
- Hubbard also leads the Owls in steals and assists, averaging 2.5 steals and 2.2 assists per game.
- Janeta Rozentale leads the Owls on the glass, tallying a team-high 9.1 rebounds per game, and Dyllan Hanna is the team leader in blocks, recording 0.8 blocks per game.
- The Owls completed their season sweep against Charlotte with Sunday's 56-47 win on Senior Day.
- Janeta Rozentale and Aniya Hubbard led the Owls in the win.
- Rozentale scored a team-high 14 points, shooting 43 percent (6-of-14) from the field and 40 percent (2-of-5) from beyond the arc, while also adding a team-leading nine boards, a team-high two blocks, two assists, and two steals.
- Hubbard also finished in double figures with a team second-best 13 points, shooting 71 percent (5-of-7) from the field and 67 percent (2-of-3) from 3-point range, in addition to pulling down three boards, dishing out three assists, and grabbing two steals.
- Devyn Scott finished with a team-high five assists.
- Florida Atlantic outscored Charlotte 13-6 in the first, 11-10 in the third, and 17-10 in the fourth.
- The Owls also outshot the 49ers 43.1 percent to 31.6 percent from the field.
- Florida Atlantic also held advantages in points in the paint, 28-20, points off turnovers, 19-12, bench points, 29-13, and fast break points, 8-3.
- Temple enters this Wednesday's regular season finale at 18-11 overall and 12-5 in AAC play and won 81-66 in their last contest at ECU on Sunday.
- As a team, Temple leads the AAC in turnover margin (4.6), and ranks second in scoring margin (7.0), offensive rebounds per game (16.5), 3-point percentage defense (.284), and turnovers per game (14.1), third in assist/turnover ratio (1.0), rebounds per game (40.7), steals per game (9.1), turnovers forced per game (18.7), and winning percentage (.621), fourth in rebounding margin (2.9) and scoring defense (63.0), and fifth in assists per game (13.9) and scoring offense (70.0)
- The Owls are led offensively by Tiarra East and Aleah Nelson, who are averaging 13.0 and 12.4 points per game, respectively.
- East is Temple's steals leader, collecting 1.5 steals per contest, while Nelson leads Temple in assists, dishing out 4.2 assists per game.
- Defensively, Rayne Tucker leads Temple on the boards, pulling down 8.2 rebounds per contest, and is tied for the team lead in blocks with Ines Piper, recording 1.0 block per game.
- Wednesday marks the first meeting between Florida Atlantic and Temple.
- Following Wednesday's contest, the Owls will prepare for the American Athletic Conference Championship on March 9-13 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
