BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's tennis dueled for nearly four hours Friday morning and into the afternoon but fell to American Athletic Conference member UTSA in a non-conference contest by a 4-3 score.

The Owls, who are 11-3 on the year and ranked No. 55 nationally, surrendered the doubles point to UTSA (10-5) with Roadrunner wins on courts #1 and #2.

Florida Atlantic freshman Panna Bartha improved her record to 12-1 on the year with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) victory on court #1. UTSA would retake the lead at 2-1 for the briefest of moments before junior Lexi Silna tied the match once more at 2-2 winning court #4 7-6 (7-5), 6-2. Junior Millie-Mae Matthews was the next Owl winner with a three-set thriller at 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 to even the match for the third time, this time by a 3-3 score. All eyes turned to the only match still in progress which saw UTSA prove the victor.
