BOCA RATON, Fla. – Six home games, including home matchups versus in-state foe South Florida, the Shula Bowl versus FIU, and Army West Point highlight the 2024 Florida Atlantic football schedule released Thursday by the American Athletic Conference.
Under second year Hagerty Family Head Coach Tom Herman, the Owls open on the road facing Michigan State, an opponent they have faced three previous times all on the road, on Saturday, Aug. 31. Florida Atlantic's home opener comes versus first-time opponent and new AAC member Army West Point on Saturday, Sept. 7.

On Saturday, Sept. 14, FIU and the Shula Bowl return to Boca Raton. Connecticut on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Wagner on Saturday, Sept. 28 round out the non-conference slate. FAU plays just two games in the month of October with North Texas coming to Boca Raton on Oct. 12 and the Owls traveling to UTSA on Oct. 19.
November begins with Florida Atlantic hosting USF on Friday, Nov. 1 before back-to-back road trips to East Carolina, on Thursday, Nov. 7, and Temple on Saturday, Nov. 16. The only other home contest in November is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23 versus Charlotte. The regular-season finale is Saturday, Nov. 30 at Tulsa.
The American Athletic Conference Football Championship, which has been broadcast on ABC in each of the last nine years, is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 6, and will be televised in prime time.
