BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic will play host in back-to-back home contests for the second time this season when the Owls welcome the visiting North Texas this Saturday, Oct. 12, to FAU Stadium. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. and will air on ESPN2 and Fox Sports 640 AM South Florida.

The evening will be a tri-county celebration and will mark the first time a regular season FAU football game has aired on ESPN2. The Owls enter the game with a 2-3 record and a 0-1 American Athletic Conference mark, falling to a 5-0 Army team in the season's home opener. The Owls hold the all-time series record at 8-6 and are 4-2 versus North Texas at home, but fell to the Mean Green in Denton, Texas by a 45-28 score in 2022. North Texas will come to Paradise with a 4-1 overall record and a 1-0 mark in AAC play.

Senior CBÂ Daedae Hill and senior CB Buggs Brown can expect a busy game on Saturday. The duo will be key factors in the Owls' defense which ranks No. 1 among AAC programs in passing defense, allowing just 53 completions on the year. North Texas will enter the game as the AAC's No. 1 passing offense with 128 completions.

Sitting atop the league and ranked No. 24 nationally in interceptions, with two each, are S Phillip Dunnam and Brown. They are just some of the opportunistic players on the field. Freshman S CJ Heard leads the country in fumbles recovered, while Wendol Philord is No. 8 nationally in forced fumbles. Three players, LB Eddie Williams, S Jayden Williams, and DL Jaden Wheeler, are No. 17 in fumbles recovered. As a squad, the Owls are No. 15 nationally in turnovers gained.
