Owls Wrap Up Two-Day TYR Fall Classic

MIAMI – The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams finished the TYR Fall Classic with strong performances on Saturday afternoon. Both the men and women's teams finished second in the final standings.
The Owl men had seven top three finishes on the afternoon including two victories, ending the meet with a final score of 533 points.
On the women's side, the Owls finished with 497 points with five top three finishes, two of them being event winners.

Men
- Logan Thornsberry started the winning for Florida Atlantic, victorious in the 100 free with a time of 45.85
- Nick Shaffer grabbed another victory for the Owls, winning the 200 IM (1:55.87)
- Trevor Kuhn took second in the 1m diving with a score of 290.95
- Freshman James Shevchenko finished second in the 200 fly (1:52.45)
- Another freshman, Matthew Hand, took third in the 200 breast (2:08.78)
- In the 200 back, Peyton Ming finished third (1:52.95)
- The meet concluded with a second place finish in the 400 free relay. The team of Thornsberry, Daniel Laureyssens, Timo Paisley and Shevchenko accumulated a time of 3:04.11
Women
- Cica Carvalho got the first victory of the day in the 500 free in a time of 5:05.56, winning the event by nearly 3 seconds
- Dolores Margni continued the victories, winning the 200 fly (2:05.28)
- In the 100 free, Izzy Jones took second (53.15)
- On the diving board, Lola Dragosavac finished third in the 3m with a score of 229.20
- The 400 free relay concluded the day with a third place finish. The team of Jones, Margni, Ludo Pavia, and Bry Bellile recorded a time of 3:32.41
