BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic Athletics hosted its fourth annual Paradise Madness on Wednesday evening. Both the men's and the women's basketball teams performed in front of a packed crowd at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, giving fans an early look at their 2024-25 campaigns.
The two teams competed in several exciting events that showcased the talents of each roster.
First up was a skills challenge for the women's team. featuring senior guard
Jada Moore, redshirt sophomore guard
Stefanie Ingram, sophomore guard
Kristina Godfrey, and freshman guard
Erin Rodgers. Rodgers defeated Godfrey 24-23 and Moore won 17-16 against Ingram in the opening round. In the final, Moore won the event with a 17-14 score.
The competitive three-point contest saw mixed groups compete amongst each other. Team White of redshirt senior guard
Ta'Ziah Jenks and junior guard
Mya Perry as well as freshman forward
Max Langenfeld were defeated 40-37 by Team Blue of senior forward
Maria Myklebust and freshman guard
Sydney Mains from the women and graduate guard
KyKy Tandy for the men.
Next came the dunk contest in which redshirt junior forward
Tre Carroll took the victory over redshirt freshman guard
Devin Vanterpool and sophomore forward
Kaleb Glenn.
The evening concluded with a 20-minute scrimmage amongst the men's basketball team featuring eight newcomers along with the returning Carroll and Vanterpool. The white team achieved the victory.
