BOCA RATON, Fla. – Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books with six former Florida Atlantic Owls seeing action. Here's a rundown of how each performed during the fifth week

#0 Azeez Al-Shaair | LB | Houston Texans
- It was a heroic outing for Al-Shaair in the Texans' last-second 23-20 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Leading the defense on all 61 of their snaps, he was all over the field in run defense, coverage, and pass rush. His final tally of eight tackles, two pass breakups, and two quarterback hits are even more impressive considering the 24 hours prior was spent in the emergency room due to illness.
No stranger to adversity, Al-Shaair continues his rise into one of the best linebackers in the league.

#84 Harrison Bryant | TE | Las Vegas Raiders
- Bryant continued to see the field more in the Raiders' 34-18 defeat to the division rival Denver Broncos, playing 32 snaps. He also made his mark on five special teams appearances, registering his first tackle of the season.

#91 Trey Hendrickson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
- Hendrickson made three key tackles in run defense and also added a quarterback hit, upping his season total in the latter category to seven. The Bengals ultimately lost an overtime thriller, 41-38, to their AFC North foe Baltimore Ravens.

#43 Matthew Hayball | P | New Orleans Saints
- Making his primetime debut on Monday night, Hayball set a new career high of average yards-per-punt at 49.75. This included a career-long 53-yarder. The Saints were defeated by the defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 26-13.

#36 Greg Joseph | K | New York Giants
- For the second straight week, Joseph had a perfect outing, going five-for-five on his kicks with three field goals and two extra points. His 11 points ended up being a difference maker as the Giants pulled off the 29-20 upset over the Seattle Seahawks.

#42 James Pierre | CB | Pittsburgh Steelers
- Pierre saw the field 12 times on special teams in the 20-17 Sunday night loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He also made an appearance on defense for the second time this season.
