MIAMI, Fla. – Florida Atlantic shut out the Panthers on Sunday night in a non-conference matchup. The Owls won the last two matchups against the Panthers, first one since Fla. Atlantic is now in the AAC.
Tonight's matchup marked the first non-conference game in ten years against the Panthers. The Owls shutout Fla. International two nil tonight, the match remained scoreless through the first half. In the 62nd of the match,
Sofia Voldby scored her first goal of the season assisted by
Emmy Schleifer to take the lead. Shortly after
Malaya Melancon scored a goal on a penalty to extend the lead two nil. The Owls recorded five shots and three saves on the night, compared to the Panthers with 11 shots, three shots on goa, and one save.
Tonight marked the eleventh time the Owls have shutout the Panthers in program history.
The Owls return home for another conference matchup, they will face UAB on Thursday, September at 7 p.m.
