BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's soccer fell by a 2-0 final to Tulsa in the AAC opener on Saturday night.
Tulsa controlled possession for long stretches of the first half but the match remained scoreless until just before the break. The Golden Hurricane took the lead on a cross into the six-yard box following a failed clearance off a corner kick.
The Owls had four shot attempts in the second half but could not find the equalizer. Victor Claudel had the best opportunity in the 72nd minute but his try sailed over the crossbar. Tulsa eventually added an insurance marker in the 77th minute.
Rotem Fadida finished with five saves in goal for FAU. Shot attempts favored Tulsa by a 15-6 margin (7-1 on goal).
