BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University volleyball (14-11, 6-6 AAC) will wrap up its four-game homestand this weekend in a pair of matches against the Memphis Tigers (8-17, 4-9 AAC) on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4.
- The Owls are 14-11 overall and 6-6 in AAC play and currently rank 7th in the AAC entering this weekend's series. This past weekend, the Owls picked up a huge five-set upset over Wichita State, before closing out the weekend in a straight-set defeat against UTSA.
- As a team, the Owls lead the AAC in assists per set (12.79) and kills per set (13.76). The Owls also rank second in the league in total attacks (3,309), kills (1,238), and assists (1,151).
- Arianna Beckham leads the Owls attack, boasting a team-leading 260 kills, tallying 2.92 per set this season.
- Valeria Rosado and Katelynn Robine also help lead the Owls' attack, recording 195 and 186 kills, averaging 2.22 and 2.33 kills per set, respectively.
- Victoria Hensley is the Owls leading setter, dishing out a team-best 800 assists, averaging 8.89 assists per set through 25 matches.
- Defensively, the Owls' leading libero is Isabelle Northam, who boasts a team-best 370 digs, averaging 4.11 digs per set.
- The Owls' blocking leaders are Kaila Ru and Lauryn Green, who have tallied 61 and 60 blocks, averaging 0.76 and 0.88 blocks per set this season.
- Memphis enters this weekend's series at 8-17 overall and 4-9 in AAC play, ranking 11th in the AAC standings.
- As a team, the Tigers rank second in service aces (146) and third in total attacks (3,251) and aces per set (1.59).
- Offensively the Tigers are led by Tabytha Toelke and Clara Bednarek, who are averaging 2.23 and 2.12 kills per set this season.
- Memphis' offense is run through a trio of setters with Jordan Heatherly leading the way with 340 assists, tallying 4.66 per set, and followed by Loren Robertson and Catalina Martinez, with 288 and 244 assists, averaging 6.70 and 4.60, respectively.
- Defensively, the Tigers are anchored by Abigail Schlueter, who leads Memphis' back row with 307 digs, averaging 3.49 per set.
- At the net, Clara Bednarek boasts a team-leading 76 blocks, tallying 0.88 per set this season.
- This weekend's series will mark the second and third all-time meetings between Florida Atlantic and Memphis. The last and only meeting between the two programs was on Sept. 24, 2004, when the Owls fell in a four-set battle against the Tigers on neutral hardwood.
- Next weekend, the Owls will head back out on the road as they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to take on the Charlotte 49ers for a two-match series on Friday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 12.
